From childhood I was always struck by nature and conservation; this is for me, an essential part of our life. I began working as a Canopy guide and after a series of training courses from various foundations and institutions such as the Fundación Neotrópica, INA (National Learning Institute) and the ICT (Costa Rican Tourism Institute), I obtained my license as a Costa Rican naturalist guide. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to the United States several times, where I greatly improved my English language skills. It’s been almost 15 years now, that I’ve been working on day and night tours, specializing in the area of amphibians, plants and birds.

My interest in nature is innate, we were born and raised surrounded by the cloud forest. At a young age, I was able to work for five years as a biology assistant; helping with the white face monkeys project at Lomas de Barbudal Biological Reserve near Bagaces, Costa Rica. Back in Monteverde, I worked for three years at the Monteverde Frog Pond. These experiences coupled with my education and training, provided me with a vast knowledge to lead all types of wildlife tours. For the past 10 years I have been working to increase my skills as a naturalist guide. A tour is a unique experience to raise awareness about the importance of nature conservation.

After high school at the local Colegio Tecnico Profesional de Santa Elena, I started working as a guide at the Canopy Monteverde Valle SA company, commercially known as “Sky Trek”. Since then, I have been trained in various fields of biology. I graduated as a Costa Rican guide certified by INBio (National Institute of Biodiversity). Tthe greatest satisfaction in my job is having the opportunity to meet different people from all over the world, who share my interests in nature and conservation. My passion for my work has taken me to know and study different regions of the our beautiful country. It is very motivating to me that the tourists identify with the beauty of Costa Rica, its nature and people.
