Join us on an unforgettable journey through the cloud forest
Amazing tour at Curi Cancha Reserve! The reserve is beautiful on its own but if you want to hike and see many species of birds and some snakes and monkeys too, take this tour! Our guide was excellent at spotting wildlife and had a scope so we could see them up close and also take amazing pictures. We had one of the best nature guides that I have ever experienced. Truly memorable.
Mauricio took us on a wonderful walk through the forest at night. We saw a sloth, tarantulla, scorpion, snakes and various other insects that were really cool. He was very knowledgeable.
We spent a few hours in the morning with Alexander in the Curi Cancha reserve. Alexander impressed us with his knowledge, desire to share, and passion for the unique wildlife that Curi Cancha has to offer. It was an incredible experience. We were able see with clarity: two sloths, two different snakes, a toucan from afar, hummingbirds, the Resplendent Quetzal (female AND male), and many other impressive animals. The way Alexander was able to use the sounds of the birds to understand what was happening and where was very cool, and he also enjoyed sharing with us some neat little tricks the forest has to offer.
The tour with Elbert was very interesting, you can tell that he is very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. He is very passionate about his work and his positive energy can be felt from start to end. Without him we would not see anything within the dense forest. Even with instructions and pro-gear, it is sometimes hard to find the animal. So, if you come to the Cloud Forest and plan to see some animals, get a guide. Elbert is definitely a very good one.
My husband and I did a private tour with Mauricio in the Curi-Cancha Reserve. You could call us passionate, self-taught botanists of our area (Colorado, New Mexico), but we knew nothing about the Monte Verde cloud forest. So we wanted not just someone with a telescope but someone with broad knowledge about plant species and families, birds, animals and their interrelationships... we couldn’t have been happier! Mauricio was patient with all our questions, gracious, and infectiously enthusiastic. We’re so grateful to him for opening his beautiful country to us.
We booked 3 tours with the Three Brothers Tours in Monteverde, including a bird tour in the Monteverde Reserve, a bird tour in Curi Cancha and a night tour. Had an excellent time with. They were punctual, knowledgeable and a lot of fun. We were glad that we book all of 3 tours with the same agency because they were able to tailor each subsequent tour based on what we had already seen. Had 2 of the 3 brothers as guides and their skill set and personalities compliment each other well. Would definitely recommend them.
We booked a night tour with TBT in July 2019, and could not have been happier with the experience. After watching a beautiful sunset from a small grove of banana trees, we were led through the forest by Elberth to observe a sloth, tarantula, green viper, armadillo, and a Quetzal (very rare sighting for July), as well as countless other insects, bats and birds. We would have missed most if not all of these sightings without Elberth's guidance, which was complemented by information and discussions one expects from a true expert on the area and its wildlife. He was also particularly patient and skilled at managing sightings and photography with a family of 4, including taking several photos for us with difficult lighting and perspectives. Highly recommended for anyone traveling to the Monteverde region.
I took three tours with the Three Brothers Tours in Montecerde and was incredibly impressed. The brothers are incredibly knowledgeable, utterly professional and made me feel like a guest rather than a client. I would very much recommend them if you are in Monteverde / Santa Elena region of Costa Rica.
We have used Three Brothers tour guides 4 times in the last 5 years. Each time their nature tour of Monteverde Cloud Forest was incredible. Their knowledge of the trees, vegetation, and birds is amazing. Each time we have learned new things about the Monteverde Cloud Forest. The brothers are excellent at showing us birds, including the hard-to-spot quetzal, and using our cameras to capture them on photos and videos. We highly recommend them!
From the first contact on Elberth made sure we had every information we needed. The tour was just awesome. We did see two sloths, sleeping birds, snakes and many other insects. Elberth had an answer to every question and made sure we stayed safe and entertained throughout the whole walk. Every animal we wanted to see- we saw. I highly recommend the three brother tours!
These guys really know their stuff - they answered all questions about the environment, the flora and fauna knowledgably and in a way that the kids could understand. We had a mix of young children who were all about the mammals and a couple who were desperate to see a quetzal. Mauricio and Alexander kept everyone happy - and spotted so many things that you just never would on your own, including several quetzals (male and female). I really recommend them - they are good fun too
We were excited about the possibility of seeing some nocturnal animals on our night hike with Elberth. The hike was outstanding and we were able to see more than we expected, including a pit viper and a two-toed sloth - right above us. Elberth was an excellent guide and did a great job of sharing his knowledge of the region. Highly recommend!
We did a night tour on Jan 7, and we absolutely LOVED it! Mino was our guide and he was able to show us the wonders of the forest. We saw a wood thrush, an emerald toucanet, a long tailed Manakin, a green viper, a sloth and even an olingo! Will definitely recommend booking any tour with these guys!
We loved our tour in the cloud forest - we saw all sorts of wildlife including 4 quetzals! Our guide was brilliant - so knowledgable, friendly and enthusiastic. I'd definitely recommend this tour to anyone!
When visiting Monteverde, I highly recommend going to Curi Cancha with Elberth Fuentes from Three Brothers Tours. You can book a private tour so you can discuss preferences and go at your own pace. Elberth is friendly, informative, speaks English extremely well and spots everything from birds to insects. Without him, we would not have seen the beautiful Quetzals in the avocado tree and numerous other beautiful birds. Thanks Elberth!
Very knowledgeable and friendly! Easy going and solid English. Definitely worth taking one of these guides with you in this area! You see so much more!!
We had two great tours with Alexander. One in Santa Elena cloud forest and one at Curi Cancha reserve. We had only booked the first with him, but it was so good we asked him to take us the next day to Curi Cancha to see more wildlife. We learned a lot about the cloud forest on the first tour. His english is wonderful and my entire family enjoyed it. Highly recommend him.
