White-necked Puffbird

IMG_2509 Recently the Three Brothers Tours team visited the Famingo Beach area in the Guanacaste Province collaborating with the Oceanology Institute in the preservation of “Isla Plata”.

Our part was to make a bird list of the species found in the island during the rainy season; last March we did the same exercise for the birds found in the dry season.

We are really glad to be involved with a project like this one; we count over 40 bird species and these records will help the Oceanology Institute to continue the efforts to protect the island.

This picture of a “White-necked Puffbird” individual was taken on the island and he is a resident throughout the year.
