Come with us and enjoy a one of a kind experience. The tour starts as soon as we pick you up in the hotel and take you to the entrance of the Santa Elena Reserve, then we will hike for around 1 hour to get to the San Gerardo Biological Station. The San Gerardo Biological Station is located on the Atlantic slope on the Tilarán mountain range at 1,200 above sea level. The nearby areas of the Station offer trails along primary and secondary forest as well as regenerating pastures. The forest type in the zone is catalogued as Premontane Rain Forest, which is an evergreen forest, with a canopy at 30 to 40 meters in height, abundant epiphytes, and a dense understory.
In order to participate of this tour you need to be in excellent physical conditions. The tour consists in a Day Time hike and a Night Hike in the San Gerardo Station trails, a tour of the surrounding areas, 3 meals (dinner, breakfast and lunch), lodging and answers to all the questions and doubts you have.
We will be picking you up at around 12:30pm and you will be back at around 3:30pm the following day.
Bring: Camera, Comfortable Shoes, Light Rain Jacket, Long Pants.
