San Gerardo Tour

Where: San Gerardo, Costa Rica

 If your passion its watching birds and wildlife and you love to hike, this tour is for you.

Come with us and enjoy a one of a kind experience. The tour starts as soon as we pick you up in the hotel and take you to the entrance of the Santa Elena Reserve, then we will hike for around 1 hour to get to the San Gerardo Biological Station. The San Gerardo Biological Station is located on the Atlantic slope on the Tilarán mountain range at 1,200 above sea level. The nearby areas of the Station offer trails along primary and secondary forest as well as regenerating pastures. The forest type in the zone is catalogued as Premontane Rain Forest, which is an evergreen forest, with a canopy at 30 to 40 meters in height, abundant epiphytes, and a dense understory.

In order to participate of this tour you need to be in excellent physical conditions. The tour consists in a Day Time hike and a Night Hike in the San Gerardo Station trails, a tour of the surrounding areas, 3 meals (dinner, breakfast and lunch), lodging and answers to all the questions and doubts you have.

We will be picking you up at around 12:30pm and you will be back at around 3:30pm the following day.

Private Bird Watching Tour

Where: Monteverde, Costa Rica
When: 6am
Duration: Approx 5 hours

In this birding experience you will be able to see over 25 species of birds. We will start our tour at Stellas Bakery, we will decide with you what type of birds are you looking to see and decide on to which reserves and places we will be taking you.

Bring: Camera, Comfortable Shoes, Light Rain Jacket, Long Pants.

Curi-Cancha Private Reserve

Where: Curicancha, Costa Rica
When: 7:30am, 11:30am or 1:30pm
Duration: Approx 5 hours

A three hour walk on a private reserve with a privileged location adjacent to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Curi-Cancha was recently open to the public and this new option is a must for birders and nature lovers because it offers: cloud forest, transitional forest, secondary forest and pasture areas in regeneration. Also, there are outstanding panoramic views and the beauty of the forests of Monteverde. The entrance fees are included in the prices below

 Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve

Where: Monteverde, Costa Rica

Duration: Approx 3 hours

This is a three hour tour in the first and primary conservation area established in Monteverde. Your TBT naturalist guide will take you on well-maintained trails to show you and teach you about the importance of the Cloud Forest and its unique microclimate. It is fair to keep in mind that this is a private reserve for conservation purposes

Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve

Where: Santa Elena, Costa Rica

Duration: Approx 3 hours

Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve is a conservation area managed by the Santa Elena Public High school. The tour takes about three hours and their trails are steep and the density of forest at this altitude reduces the chances to see wildlife, however increases the chances to see trees and plants very unique to the Cloud Forest.

Guided Night Tour

Where: Monteverde, Costa Rica
When: 5:30pm
Duration: Approx 2 hours

At transition time between day and night, your TBT naturalist guide will take you on a two hour hike inside the forest to discover nocturnal wildlife.
